Call for Contributions for the CO-LLABS workshop
"Sustainable management for viable Living Labs"
Date for workshop: Thursday, July 2, 2009
Objective: The CO-LLABS workshop consist of different parallel sessions with the aim to bring together policy representatives, researchers, innovation agencies and Living Labs initiatives to discuss operational issues related to how to run a Living Lab.
The sessions will assess the operational work with the Living Lab approach in order to provide values for the stakeholders involved and to survive as a Living lab. The sessions can for example draw from practice and lessons learned for the operational work of a Living Lab approach. Contributions can be in different formats like: full workshop proposals, presentations of research results, presentations of real-life experiences, co-creative discussions, and exhibition of show-cases on different themes (Health, Media, Tourism, Energy).
The sessions will be organised in 1½ h long time-slots 11.00 – 12.30 or 14.00 – 15.30 or 3 h timeslot 11.00 – 15.30 (with lunch break between 12.30 – 14.00 including the exhibition).
Structure: Based upon contributions from participants the final programme will be settled by the organising committee. Format of the final sessions will be structured according to the need of accepted contributions and how match-making of contributions can be organised.

Deadline for contribution submission: May 25, 2009

Notification of acceptance/rejection of contribution: June 1, 2009
We invite contributions under the following suggested topics:
Contribution could be addressing some of the following perspectives:
1) Living Labs and the commercialization phase
Key topics can be:
- How can the Living Labs support the commercialization phase of a product/service?
- How can the living lab approach create value for start-up companies and vent cap?
- How do the living lab approach link with national and regional innovation support mechanisms?
2) Living lab indicators
Key topics can be:
- How can the added-value and the effects of a Living Lab approach be measured?
- How to organize the living lab approach to create value for many?
3) Mobilizing users
Key topics can be:
- How to mobilize people in the Living Lab environment?
- What motivates people to take part?
- How to plan and organize user involvement in practice?
- How to use IT for distributed user-groups and the process of open user driven innovation?
4) Living lab management
Key topics can be:
- Business models for future sustainability
- Key elements of a Living Lab to sustain
5) Open theme
